A wart is generally a small, rough non-cancerous tumor, typically found on a person's hands and feet, that can resemble a cauliflower or a solid blister. Warts are common, and are caused by a viral infection, specifically by the human papillomavirus (HPV) and are contagious when in contact with the skin of an infected person.  They can last for years and can recur.

In general, warts should be treated.  Treatment may decrease the chance that the warts will be spread to other areas of your body or to other people.  Not to mention the fact that warts can cause embarrassment, they can bleed, they can cause pain when bumped, and just simply be bothersome.

There are several methods in which warts can be treated; and trust us, none of them are as fun as they sound.  They can be:

  • Burned
  • Frozen
  • Cut
  • Removed with a laser

Not only can these procedures be time consuming, and painful; they can also be expensive.

Fortunately, the compounding pharmacists at Bayview Pharmacy have the ability to compound several topical medications that are:

  • Easy to use
  • Economical
  • Pleasant
  • Effective

To find out if treating your warts with a compounded medication may be right for you - read this - and contact us to help you get the process started.
