Chronic hepatitis is a catch-all diagnosis for a number of diseases where there is inflammation and death of liver tissue. Affected dogs develop a slowly progressive liver disease.

The pharmacists at Bayview Pharmacy have the ability to compound certain medications for your dog.  These medications will be custom dosed based on your dog's weight and symptoms, and may come in the following forms: flavored treats, flavored suspensions, flavored capsules, transdermal gels, and injection solutions to name a few.

A veterinarian might prescribe any of the following medications to be compounded for a dog with hepatitis:

Prednisone

Azathioprine

Colchicine

Ursodiol
