PRESCRIPTION COMPOUNDING FOR CANINE OSTEOARTHRITIS

Many dogs suffer from some form of osteoarthritis. While there is no cure for osteoarthritis, your dog can live comfortably for many years to come.

Osteoarthritis is a chronic, degenerative joint disease that affects both the soft tissues and bones of a joint. It causes pain and decreased flexibility in the affected joint(s). The "osteo-" part of osteoarthritis indicates that the arthritic process involves the bones of the joint. It can affect any joint in your dog's body.

The pharmacists at Bayview Pharmacy have the ability to compound certain medications for your dog.  These medications would be custom dosed based on your dog's weight and symptoms, and may come in a variety forms and flavors.

A veterinarian might prescribe any of the following medications to be compounded for a dog with osteoarthritis:

Amantadine

Chondroitin

Glucosamine
