PRESCRIPTION COMPOUNDING FOR FELINE HYPERTENSION

Hypertension occurs most commonly in older cats and is usually associated with another illness such as chronic renal failure or hyperthyroidism.

The pharmacists at Bayview Pharmacy have the ability to compound certain medications for your cat.  These medications will be custom dosed based on your cat's weight and symptoms, and may come in the following forms: flavored treats, flavored suspensions, flavored capsules, transdermal gels, and injection solutions to name a few.

A veterinarian might prescribe any of the following medications to be compounded for a cat with hypertension:

Amlodipine

Atenolol
