How Bayview supports hospice patients
Bayview partners with hospice organizations to ensure patients receive the medications and supplies they need without interruption. We coordinate with nurses, facilities, and prescribers to simplify workflows and reduce administrative burden. Our team focuses on fast response times, consistent delivery schedules, and dependable communication.
What’s included in your hospice service model
Your hospice has access to a complete pharmacy service package that includes:
- Infusion bag preparation and scheduled replenishment
- Routine medication fills and comfort-care medications
- Symptom-management formulations tailored to patient needs
- STAT and after-hours support based on your contracted plan
- Supplies and ancillary items needed for patient care
All services are aligned with your contracted delivery schedule and your organization’s care protocols.
Infusion services & delivery schedule
Bayview prepares patient-specific infusion bags and delivers them on a predictable rotation. Most patients receive two bags at a time (a 96-hour supply).
Replenishment deliveries occur on set days each week based on your hospice’s preferred schedule.
This structure ensures continuous therapy and reduces urgent refill requests.
Medication, symptom-management, and STAT access
Our pharmacy supports all routine and comfort-care medication needs—including medications for pain, nausea, anxiety, secretions, and other common end-of-life symptoms.
For urgent situations, Bayview provides STAT medication delivery and after-hours pharmacist support for verification and clinical guidance.
Facility coordination, supplies & ordering options
Bayview delivers directly to skilled nursing facilities, assisted-living centers, and hospice inpatient units. Delivery instructions can be customized for each location.
Your hospice can place orders by phone, fax, or by being e-Scribed through your EHR software.
We also provide routine supplies such as port-flush kits, syringes, alcohol swabs, and ancillary items, delivered on your contracted schedule.
Before your hospice begins services
Before your start date, your organization will complete onboarding, review your delivery schedule, and confirm communication procedures. This ensures your team can begin ordering without delay.
