The formulation is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, cough, and nasal congestion. Patients should be aware that this formulation may interact with other medications, including those that contain acetaminophen, dextromethorphan, or pseudoephedrine. It may also interact with certain herbal supplements, such as St. John's Wort. Therefore, it is important for patients to inform their healthcare provider of all medications and supplements they are taking before using this formulation.

This formulation should not be taken by patients who are allergic to any of its ingredients, or who have certain medical conditions, such as glaucoma, hypertension, or heart disease. It should also not be taken by patients who are currently taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or have taken them within the past 14 days.

Elderly patients should use this formulation with caution, as they may be more sensitive to its effects. Patients should not take more than the recommended dose, as this may increase the risk of side effects.

Compounded preparations have no NDC, so this formula will not appear in your EHR's drug search. Use your system's compound, non-formulary, or free-text prescription entry and name the preparation exactly as written in step 3. If your EHR forces you to pick a listed drug, pick the closest entry for the active ingredient and put the full formula in the prescription body (the Sig or directions field), not in Notes to Pharmacy.

Compounded preparations have no NDC and will not appear in your drug search. For EPCS to validate, select a drug entry your EHR recognizes as controlled, usually the bulk powder entry for the active ingredient (for example Ketamine (bulk) powder, not a branded product), then put the full formula from step 3 in the prescription body. A free-text entry that does not validate as controlled will be rejected by your EPCS module.
