How Does it Work

A small arrow pointing down

Tadalafil 1 mg/Gm Topical Gel is a specialized medication designed to address a range of conditions such as erectile dysfunction, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and pulmonary arterial hypertension. The active ingredient, tadalafil, functions as a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. This means it works by preventing the breakdown of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which in turn aids in relaxing the smooth muscles of the penis. This process facilitates increased blood flow and improved erectile function. Additionally, it assists in alleviating symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia, such as urination difficulties, and can help reduce symptoms of pulmonary arterial hypertension, such as breathlessness.

The Tadalafil 1 mg/Gm Topical Gel is a semisolid formulation that is applied directly to the skin of the affected area. It is dispensed through a pump mechanism, which allows for easy and precise application. Once applied, the medication is absorbed through the skin and enters the bloodstream. It is then metabolized by the liver. Typically, the medication is administered once daily, and it is crucial to adhere to the instructions provided by your healthcare provider or pharmacist. Please note that it may take up to 4 weeks for this medication to reach its full effect.

Use your system's compound, non-formulary, or free-text prescription entry and name the preparation exactly as written in step 3.
