Bayview Pharmacy is pleased to present our unique Anthralin 0.1%/Salicylic Acid 0.5% topical gel formulation. This semisolid formulation is dispensed through a pump mechanism, facilitating easy and precise application on the skin for targeted treatment. The gel-like consistency allows for optimal absorption of the active ingredients.

Anthralin is an anti-inflammatory agent that helps to reduce inflammation and scaling associated with psoriasis. Salicylic Acid, a keratolytic agent, works to reduce the thickness of the skin and soften the scales associated with psoriasis. Together, these two active ingredients work synergistically to alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis.

This formulation is also beneficial for those suffering from seborrheic dermatitis, a skin condition characterized by red, scaly patches on the scalp, face, and chest. The Salicylic Acid in the formulation helps to reduce the thickness of the skin and soften the scales associated with seborrheic dermatitis, while Anthralin works to reduce the inflammation associated with this condition.

For individuals with alopecia areata, an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss, our Anthralin 0.1%/Salicylic Acid 0.5% topical gel can provide relief. Anthralin helps to reduce the inflammation associated with this condition, while Salicylic Acid works to reduce the thickness of the skin and soften the scales associated with alopecia areata.

Compounded preparations have no NDC, so this formula will not appear in your EHR's drug search. Use your system's compound, non-formulary, or free-text prescription entry and name the preparation exactly as written in step 3. If your EHR forces you to pick a listed drug, pick the closest entry for the active ingredient and put the full formula in the prescription body (the Sig or directions field), not in Notes to Pharmacy.

Compounded preparations have no NDC and will not appear in your drug search. For EPCS to validate, select a drug entry your EHR recognizes as controlled, usually the bulk powder entry for the active ingredient (for example Ketamine (bulk) powder, not a branded product), then put the full formula from step 3 in the prescription body. A free-text entry that does not validate as controlled will be rejected by your EPCS module.
