Clomiphene Citrate 5%/Testosterone 5% Topical Cream is a specially compounded medication designed to address a range of conditions including infertility, hypogonadism, andropause, primary ovarian insufficiency, and polycystic ovary syndrome. This unique formulation combines the therapeutic benefits of clomiphene citrate and testosterone, two hormones integral to fertility and reproductive health.

Clomiphene citrate functions by stimulating the release of hormones that regulate ovulation, thereby enhancing fertility. Testosterone, on the other hand, is known to boost libido and improve sexual function. The synergistic effect of these two hormones can significantly improve fertility and overall reproductive health in both men and women.

This topical cream is dispensed in a pump mechanism, designed for convenient and controlled application on the skin. This allows for localized treatment and absorption of the active ingredients, ensuring optimal efficacy. The formulation is generally well-tolerated with minimal side effects, making it a suitable treatment option for many patients.

However, it is crucial to note that this medication should only be used under the guidance of a healthcare provider. This is because it can interact with other medications and may cause adverse reactions. Following the instructions provided by your healthcare provider is essential to ensure the best results from this treatment.

Drug Interactions

A small arrow pointing down

Clomiphene Citrate 5%/Testosterone 5% Topical Cream is a compounded formulation designed for the treatment of various conditions related to hormonal imbalances. These conditions include infertility, hypogonadism, andropause, primary ovarian insufficiency, and polycystic ovary syndrome. The cream is a semisolid preparation dispensed in a pump mechanism, which allows for convenient and controlled application on the skin for localized treatment or absorption of active ingredients.

Clomiphene citrate, one of the active ingredients in this formulation, is an anti-estrogen that functions by blocking the action of estrogen in the body. This action can help stimulate the production of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) in women, which are crucial for ovulation. In men, clomiphene citrate can help increase testosterone levels, thereby improving sperm production and libido.

The other active ingredient, testosterone, is a male hormone that plays a vital role in increasing sperm production and libido. When combined with clomiphene citrate, it can help enhance fertility in both men and women. In men, it can help boost testosterone levels, which can improve sperm production and libido. In women, it can help stimulate the production of FSH and LH, which can aid in ovulation.

Furthermore, this formulation can help alleviate the symptoms of andropause, primary ovarian insufficiency, and polycystic ovary syndrome. However, it is crucial to note that this medication should not be used by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding due to potential risks.

If you have any questions or concerns about using this formulation, it is recommended to consult with a healthcare professional to ensure it is suitable for your specific needs and conditions.

How Does it Work

A small arrow pointing down

Clomiphene Citrate 5%/Testosterone 5% Topical Cream is a specially compounded medication designed to address a range of conditions including infertility, hypogonadism, andropause, primary ovarian insufficiency, and polycystic ovary syndrome. This semisolid preparation is dispensed via a pump mechanism, ensuring a controlled and convenient application on the skin for localized treatment.

The active ingredients, Clomiphene Citrate and Testosterone, are absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. Clomiphene Citrate functions by stimulating the pituitary gland to release hormones, which in turn prompts the ovaries to produce eggs. Testosterone, on the other hand, boosts the production of luteinizing hormone, a key regulator of testosterone production in the body. The combined effect of these two medications aids in enhancing fertility and overall reproductive health.

For individuals dealing with infertility, this cream can potentially increase the chances of conception by stimulating hormone release from the pituitary gland. In cases of hypogonadism, the cream can help elevate testosterone levels, thereby improving libido, energy levels, and muscle mass. For those experiencing andropause, the cream can alleviate symptoms such as fatigue, depression, and decreased libido. For patients diagnosed with primary ovarian insufficiency, the cream can aid in restoring normal hormone levels and enhancing fertility. Lastly, for those with polycystic ovary syndrome, the cream can help mitigate symptoms like irregular menstrual cycles, acne, and hirsutism.

If you have any queries about this formulation, its working mechanism, or how it can help treat these conditions, please feel free to contact us. We are committed to helping you find the most suitable treatment option tailored to your individual needs.

Use your system's compound, non-formulary, or free-text prescription entry and name the preparation exactly as written in step 3. For EPCS to validate, select a drug entry your EHR recognizes as controlled, usually the bulk powder entry for the active ingredient (for example Ketamine (bulk) powder, not a branded product), then put the full formula from step 3 in the prescription body.
