How Does it Work

A small arrow pointing down

Coal Tar Topical Solution 10%/Salicylic Acid 2% Scalp Lotion is a specially formulated blend of two active ingredients, designed to treat a variety of skin conditions. The formulation is either liquid or semi-liquid, designed for external application to the skin. It provides a smooth and spreadable consistency, offering moisturizing, soothing, or therapeutic effects for specific skin conditions, while promoting absorption of active ingredients for localized treatment.

The first active ingredient, Coal tar, is an anti-inflammatory and antifungal agent that helps reduce itching, scaling, and redness. The second active ingredient, Salicylic acid, is a keratolytic agent that helps to reduce the thickness of the outer layer of the skin, allowing the coal tar to penetrate deeper into the skin. This combination of active ingredients helps to reduce inflammation, itching, and scaling associated with Seborrheic Dermatitis, Psoriasis, Eczema, Dandruff, and Acne.

To use this formulation, apply a thin layer of the lotion to the affected area twice daily or as directed by your healthcare provider. Gently massage the lotion into the skin until it is completely absorbed. Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, and mouth. If contact occurs, rinse with water. Do not use on broken or irritated skin.

It is important to note that this formulation may cause skin irritation, redness, or dryness. If these side effects occur, discontinue use and contact your healthcare provider. If you have any questions about Coal Tar Topical Solution 10%/Salicylic Acid 2% Scalp Lotion or how it can help treat Seborrheic Dermatitis, Psoriasis, Eczema, Dandruff, and Acne, please consult with your healthcare provider.
