Formula Information

A small arrow pointing down

Niacinamide 25 mg/Iodine 103 mg Capsules is a compounded medication meticulously formulated at Bayview Pharmacy. This unique blend of active ingredients is designed to address a range of disease states, particularly those related to thyroid function such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, and goiter.

Niacinamide, a derivative of vitamin B3, plays a crucial role in regulating thyroid hormone production. Iodine, an essential mineral, is integral to the synthesis of thyroid hormones. Together, these ingredients work synergistically to manage thyroid-related conditions effectively.

For individuals suffering from hypothyroidism, this formulation aids in increasing the production of thyroid hormones. This can alleviate symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, and depression. In cases of hyperthyroidism, the formulation assists in reducing the overproduction of thyroid hormones, thereby helping to manage symptoms like anxiety, rapid heartbeat, and weight loss.

It aids in reducing the size of the thyroid gland, which can help to alleviate symptoms such as difficulty swallowing and a visible lump in the neck.

Compounded preparations have no NDC, so this formula will not appear in your EHR's drug search. Use your system's compound, non-formulary, or free-text prescription entry and name the preparation exactly as written in step 3. Compounded preparations have no NDC and will not appear in your drug search. For EPCS to validate, select a drug entry your EHR recognizes as controlled, usually the bulk powder entry for the active ingredient (for example Ketamine (bulk) powder, not a branded product), then put the full formula from step 3 in the prescription body.
