Sublingual Semaglutide is a compounded preparation of semaglutide for sublingual administration. It is prescribed by a practitioner for the indication and patient the practitioner determines appropriate. Compounded semaglutide is not FDA approved; it is prepared only on a valid prescription and has not been reviewed by the FDA for safety or efficacy.
As a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, semaglutide mimics the incretin hormones in the body, enhancing insulin secretion in a glucose-dependent manner, suppressing inappropriate glucagon secretion, and slowing gastric emptying.

Step 2: Fill in Patient Information
On the New Prescription Order Form - Semaglutide, fill in the patient information section, making sure that all of the information is up to date and includes a correct phone number so we can contact the patient about their prescription.
Step 3: Fill in Prescriber Information
After filling out the patient information, fill out your prescriber information in the section below it.
Step 4: Select Dose/Formula to Prescribe
In the formula section, the prescriber selects the strength and writes the directions (volume, frequency, and duration). The prescriber determines the starting dose, any dose changes, and when to continue, hold, or stop therapy based on the patient's response and tolerability. The pharmacy does not recommend a dose.
Semaglutide has a half-life of approximately 5 to 7 days. Prescribers may take this into account when writing directions.
