How Does it Work

A small arrow pointing down

Niacinamide 5%/Biotin 0.1%/Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate 6% Topical Gel is a specially compounded formulation designed to address a range of skin conditions. This unique blend of active ingredients works synergistically to provide targeted treatment for your skin.

Niacinamide, a potent anti-inflammatory, is known to alleviate redness and irritation associated with various skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, and seborrheic dermatitis. It helps to soothe inflamed skin and reduce the appearance of blemishes.

Biotin, another key ingredient, plays a crucial role in skin health by helping to reduce hyperpigmentation and melasma. It works by inhibiting the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for the color of our skin, hair, and eyes. By doing so, it helps to even out skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark spots.

It works by gently sloughing off dead skin cells and promoting the renewal of the skin surface, leading to a clearer and more radiant complexion.

When using this topical gel, it is essential to apply it to clean, dry skin, avoiding contact with the eyes. As this formulation can increase skin sensitivity to the sun, it is recommended to use a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher during the day. This will help protect your skin from harmful UV rays and prevent any potential sun damage.

If you have any questions or concerns about using this formulation, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are committed to helping you achieve the best possible results for your skin health.

Compounded preparations have no NDC, so this formula will not appear in your EHR's drug search. Use your system's compound, non-formulary, or free-text prescription entry and name the preparation exactly as written in step 3. If your EHR forces you to pick a listed drug, pick the closest entry for the active ingredient and put the full formula in the prescription body (the Sig or directions field), not in Notes to Pharmacy.

Compounded preparations have no NDC and will not appear in your drug search. For EPCS to validate, select a drug entry your EHR recognizes as controlled, usually the bulk powder entry for the active ingredient (for example Ketamine (bulk) powder, not a branded product), then put the full formula from step 3 in the prescription body. A free-text entry that does not validate as controlled will be rejected by your EPCS module.
