Niacinamide 5%/Lipoic Acid 1%/Biotin 0.1% Topical Cream is a specially formulated skincare product that combines the beneficial properties of three active ingredients. This unique blend is designed to address a variety of skin conditions and improve overall skin health.

Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3, is a potent antioxidant that can help reduce inflammation and enhance the skin's barrier function. This can be particularly beneficial for conditions such as acne and rosacea, where inflammation and impaired skin barrier function are common issues.

Lipoic Acid is another antioxidant included in this formulation. It is known for its ability to reduce oxidative stress, which can lead to premature skin aging. By combating oxidative stress, Lipoic Acid can help improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Biotin, or Vitamin B7, is the third active ingredient in this topical cream. It is known for its role in improving skin hydration, which can help to alleviate dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. Additionally, Biotin can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, contributing to a more youthful complexion.

While this combination of ingredients can offer numerous benefits, it's important to be aware that they may interact with other medications or supplements. Therefore, it's always recommended to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new skincare regimen. This product should also be avoided by those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, unless advised otherwise by a healthcare professional.

Compounded preparations have no NDC, so this formula will not appear in your EHR's drug search. Use your system's compound, non-formulary, or free-text prescription entry and name the preparation exactly as written in step 3. If your EHR forces you to pick a listed drug, pick the closest entry for the active ingredient and put the full formula in the prescription body (the Sig or directions field), not in Notes to Pharmacy.

Compounded preparations have no NDC and will not appear in your drug search. For EPCS to validate, select a drug entry your EHR recognizes as controlled, usually the bulk powder entry for the active ingredient (for example Ketamine (bulk) powder, not a branded product), then put the full formula from step 3 in the prescription body. A free-text entry that does not validate as controlled will be rejected by your EPCS module.
