Compounded preparations are usually paid out of pocket. Some plans reimburse the patient afterwards when an itemized receipt is submitted, and we provide receipts on request. You can also request a transfer online and we will contact your current pharmacy for you. Asking your prescriber to send a new one is often quicker and removes any ambiguity about the formula. Refills on controlled substances follow state and federal rules, so those may require a new prescription from your Maine prescriber instead of a transfer.
Pickup at 3844 Post Road in Warwick, Rhode Island is available to anyone, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm. For Maine patients that is a long drive, so nearly all prescriptions are mailed.
