No cyclobenzaprine gel, cream, liquid, or troche is manufactured. The compounded forms are not FDA-approved, their use is off-label, and a prescription is required.
Anyone who has taken an MAOI in the past 14 days, is recovering from a heart attack, has an irregular heartbeat, heart block, or heart failure, has an overactive thyroid, or is allergic to it. Talk with your prescriber first if you have liver disease, glaucoma, or trouble urinating, take an antidepressant, tramadol, or other sedating medicines, are 65 or older, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not established as safe in children under 15.
